Credit searches ruining my credit rating, what to do?

Options
Hi, i just got my equifax credit score, which came out at 249 which i was very shocked by.

Everything was green, no late payments etc apart from account hitory which was amber because some accounts are only 2 years old.

My previous searches is on red, it says 6 in 6 months, which is split into:

3 at current address
3 at linked address

why is this destroying my rating so much? could the searches be the same searches? this seems harsh as 1 was a new bank account and one was for a bed on finance.

anything i can do to change it?

Can I ask how long have you lived at your current address, ideally you need to take breaks between searches to avoid this occurring.

Try not to apply for anything for a good few months

ive lived here for a year, the searches were a couple of months apart and for totally different things,

one was a bank account which i was accepted for
one was finance for a bed which i was rejected for
and one was a mobile phone which was accepted

Ok so look at it from the lender point of view,

They can't see that you accepted or didn't accept finance.

You did request for the check to be carried out which is a true reflection of your credit file so this has to stay on your file.

Because you have lived at your home a short time this may affect any credit in the immediate future.

Hold off on applications for a few months, personally I would hazard 6 depending if opted in or out of the credit searches.

It will get better. Time is the great healer with credit reports
