First :T on your acheivement.
I'd agree with the saving goals definitely. For day to day living then why not go for some batch cooked HM ready meals and definitely stick with the fruit and veg. You need to be healthy as well as wealthy!! I love Aldi or Lidl for great value f&v. I don't know about other posters but I get a kick out of eating well for the least amount of money possible then I know I can have treats on the money saved! I also hate being ripped off by the big supermarkets. It's my hard earned so I like to choose how I spend it. Good Luck!0 -
Thanks for all your suggestions! Though Id let you know the outcome -
Putting aside some of the debt-repaying money is a good idea, why didnt I think of that?! I really should hurry up and start doing that before I get used to my new amount of money.
I think my saving goals will be Fund 1 - for holidays [which we went without for years, and which will likely be camping - so Ill need camping stuff and site/petrol money!] and Fund 2 - for things the kids have gone without, like better shoes [the poor tykes had to make do with second hand or £8 shoes from Shoe Zone for a long time!] and xmas/birthday stuff. Birthdays always catch me out.
With the food shopping Im going to have to still be quite strict somehow, I havent wasted any F&V or food yet, in fact last week we ran out before friday [shopping comes on a monday], the kids go mad for the f&v and munch it all up at the beginning of the weekSo I will get a combo of HM food and lazy food, and set a new weekly budget for food and still do menu planning etc.
Thanks all!''A moment's thinking is an hour in words.'' -Thomas Hood0
