Help - Bank Accounts & Bankruptcy - both Barclays & Co-op are creditors!

Hi there,
I am looking to go bankrupt in the next month or so, the only bank I can find to accept you once you have declared BR are Co-op and Barclays. My main creditor is Co-op so thats obviosuly a no-go, I did have a Barclays credit card a while ago and the debt has been passed to Moorcroft - does this mean Barclays are no longer a creditor and opening an cash card account would be safe with them? Otherwise I have no idea how to get a bank account for my wages etc.... any ideas anyone?
Thanks in advance
Karen

Hi
You should be able to a open a basic account with barclays, once you have been declared BR.
You will not have any online access though until you are discharged, and you need to apply in branch.BSC Member 3510 -
I had a Co-op credit card with £1500 balance on it at the time of BR, had no problem getting a bank account with them.0

Thanks both, Co-op let me open a new account with them even though I went through a DMP for the 13 k I owed them. Theyve always been really helpful, maybe I will call them and have a chat, just scared of somone saying yes in a call centre and then finding my account frozen/closed when/if the BR goes ahead.
Same goes with Barclays account really, sounds like theres hope for me and hubby though!
Youv'e both been really helpful, thanks.
