in my view
a guarantor loan : they don't understand what they are doing but you do, so going this route makes you a rather unpleasant person; as you know you are conning your family
an ordinary loan in their name : they know what they are doing and that make you a decent person even if you don't get the loan

for practical purposes there is no difference between getting a loan in their name and them guaranteeing.
but if the business is so good, why not take your business plan down to the bank?
although now it seems to be your brother's business not yours. So I am confused.
I help build it but hes doing most the work now.
I have badcredit, i doubt the bank is gonna give me money off that0 -

the board is full of people ignoring advice they don't want to hear
the advice is however well intended
but as they say these days; I'm out.

If there isnt such thing, just say it.

Come on coward. You are on a money saving site full of people who understand finance.
Your dad and uncle do NOT understand the role of guarantor.
This would be their responsibly to repay it. By all means kid them by taking advantage but don't try to take us for a ride too.
You've already made a mess of things, you live at home with little outgoings but cannot save a bean, but repayments are piddly to you.0 -
If they stand as guarantors, then they are doing it anyway. If you default on payment, they are liable. Doing it under your name just means a slightly worse interest rate and, if you do miss payments, them potentially not knowing until there is already a default on their credit report.
With that in mind, can you understand why people are questioning if they really understand the guarantor loan arrangement? Perhaps you should look at other options, including saving towards these things.
Three months in the the USA for a 'strength and conditioning' course is a luxury that you cannot afford, and do not strictly need. You might think it will improve your business, but it is unlikely to offer a direct return on investment and is not a valid business expense. Save for that and do it as a sabbatical in a few years time. For now, perhaps approach the UK boards who regulate your industry, or even those who sponsor athletes (quite a big thing this year) and seek their help on nutrition and conditioning.
Good luckSome days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

1. There is no such thing as a guantor loan
2. That's a social network site not a money lender
3. Try conning sand in the libyan area
4. Is this whole thread a wind up?Space available for rent0 -
I dont think they want to get a loan in there name to be honest. Thats why Im thinking of banks with guantor loans. Any ideas?
I don't think any banks do guarantor loans.
Banks these days will only lend to copper bottomed, secure clients who they know will pay back.
You will have to deal with the bottom feeders who charge enormous rates of interest."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0
