I am assuming like most other volunteers his shift are around 10 hours in length? If so, driving from Coventry, parking and getting a tube in... and then the return journey, is going to be an awfully long day every day. I would seriously consider looking for accommodation. There are rooms available for £25 a night on the link Simba has posted - and then you would save all the fuel money, plus wear & tear on the car.

    Those were my thoughts.

I initially looked at being a volunteer until I realised it would cost me up to 2 weeks accomodation so decided not to apply.

To the OP is hubby working every day over a 2 week period if so as above it doesnt make sense to commute..does it?
