Need new vacuum to replace Dyson...

hello.
My Dyson DC07 is on it's last legs. It's tools are starting to break and it's second hose has started to rip. My wife is convinced that it does not have the suction it used to have.
I am a bit of a Dyson fan having already owned a DC01 but I would like some advice on getting a replacement for my Dyson.
I would like another bagless vacuum cleaner, but is there anything out on the market that is as good as, or better, than my Dyson?
Any help would be much appreciated.

We are now on to our third Dyson.......
The first one's motor burnt out, the second one was permanently loaned to our daughter when she moved house and although the current one is still going fine, I did read another thread here a while ago about a Bosch cleaner that had very good reviews.
Hopefully someone else will recall the model number.0 -
There is also a thread here somewhere about getting your dyson serviced for £55. They will replace all the broken bits, clean it, everything apparently except the filters, all for £55...All of this might just be an elaborate simulation running inside a little device, sitting on someone's table.0

Yes, that was my post. We had the motor replaced for £55, and they would have replaced anything else which was expired for the same £55 including call-out.
I would recommend the environmental option - repair, not replace. Ours was 7-8 years old and that was the first breakdown.0 -
Whatever you choose do not choose the Hoover called The One (red and white model) as it is The One that is always falling to bits! I bought mine in August and the back wheel fell off in December and I was given a replacement machine and the wheels have fallen off it as well (hoover engineer coming out tomorrow to fix it) AAAHHHH!!:(0

Avoid the DC08 like the plague!! We've had nothing but trouble with it, mainly suction trouble........ This particular model was only on the market for approx 12 months & I have a feeling it was quickly superceeded due to it's technical troubles.0

The Which Magazine won't recommend Dyson no matter how good the cleaning performance, simply because they are so unreliable!0

I bought a Henry for £80 last month from costco. I had a dyson beforehand and the henry is just as good. In fact the flexibilty of the attatchments make it an easier machine to use. It also comes with a 2 year warranty. I would def. reccomend Henry.Ricardo0

Hello.
Can anyone give me any advice on the Bosch BUC11700 that has been mentioned on some of the other threads recently? It looks OK and on 24-7 Electrical is only £105 inc postage.
Have had a look at the Tesco 25% off sale. Has anyone here ever used a Dirt Devil vacuum? They look OK and have good features but that doesn't mean they are actually any good. Is it worth buying a cheaper vacuum and replacing it more often than a more expensive one?
Thanks again.sunkenvilla

I've had a Bosch BUC11700 for about 6 months now and can recommend it.
It's build quality is excellent and I haven't had any problems with it. The only drwabacks are that the hose is not particularly long and it is hard work to use due to the enormous suction power.0
