Hi all,
To try and keep this story short, back in 2007 and 2008, I was a typical, stupid, nieve young lad and got myself in to some financial trouble.
I defaulted on around 4/5 accounts and in 2008, received a CCJ.
In 2009/2010 I managed to clear around £13k of debt and still do not owe a penny to anyone.
I struggle to get any kind of credit. In the last year ive applied for a mobile phone contract, savings account, small personal loan and a new current account and have been rejected each time.
What can I do to improve my chances of been accepted for credit ?
Ive managed to get a credit card designed for people with poor credit of which ive managed fine. Am I best paying the full balance each month or shall I always keep a small amount on there ?
And lastly, is there anything else I can do to improve my chances of gaining credit ? Or do I literally need to wait for 2013/2014 until the defaults and CCJ are removed from my account ?
All advice is hugely appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

You'll just have to wait until the CCJ at least drops off. The credit reference agencies are there to flag potential bad debtors and although your recent behaviour has been no doubt exemplary, they have, as far as they are concerned, been successful. My advice is to be patient, continue to manage your affairs properly and you'll have no need of credit. In fact, don't take out credit at all, ever. There are hundreds on this site who wish they'd never heard of credit. Perversely, count yourself lucky you can't get credit.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it
