Quick Q about applying for a nationwide loan

A few weeks back i was browsing the net to see how much a loan would be each month. I looked on the nationwide website and it says they don't run any credit check until you apply for the loan. Anyhow, i received my experian report through yesterday and under financial associations is says 'Nationwide PLOAN'
Any ideas what this means? i didn't take the loan out but did they run a credit check?
