Hello, I am bringing my OH for a couple of days break to edinburgh on the 5th June. We are staying in a hotel in Grassmarket. i have got tickets for the royal yacht (using tesco vouchers of course!!) but other than that I am looking for ideas.
I wonder if anyone can recommend a nice place to have afternoon tea?
Any good MSE ways of having a birthday dinner somewhere nice?
Any ideas gratefully received.
Thanks x

You can do afternoon tea on the yacht, but it is a bit expensive. What sort of food do you like and rough idea of budget.0

Thanks for reply. I did look on website for yacht but couldnt find anything on afternoon tea. Maybe £10/15 each for tea as a budget.0

Sorry, I can't remember the prices for the yacht, just remember thinking, glad I'm not paying for it. Lots of the pubs in city centre do pretty good food at reasonable prices. The restaurants tend to be a bit expensive though. Or, if the weather is nice, a short stroll from the yacht will bring to the wee village of Newhaven. Lovely harbour there, with a Brewers Fayre pub overlooking it. Think you would get a meal there for around your budget. Google Newhaven Quay, that should get you the menu for there.0

Umm yes agree - i dont mind paying for quality but I cant help thinking it is only a plate of sarnies and cakes at the end of the day (but I know its the experience you are paying for) x0 -
