If I know I am possibly going to struggle making payments should I get in touch with companies now or wait for red letter, it seems madness to leave it people keep telling me I'm being stupid and I have no problem despite a fortnight working a total of 32 hours when I'm used to 80, I rung National Debtline to be told more or less come back when your in "real" problems but I know I can't magic money if relying now on the wages alone and this is going to be an ongoing problem until I sure can get proper full time work again (which I thought I had in the first place NDL!)

Until I get any wages I'm not going to be entirely sure how short I shall be so I'm not sure how I should be playing it with the priority payments I need to make, do I wait for the red letters or disconnection but then I suppose I need to cancel of direct debits otherwise it will be bank charges to next

I sort of made a start on contacting the 'non priority'
Payday UK said ok to having lesser payment
Vanquis allowing 'holiday' this month as I was paying into a repayment option plan - I'm well aware interest will still accrue but have no alternative as using the money I'd managed to reserve to pay rent and get petrol hopefully
Barclaycard :rotfl:Not good when they recently sent me a letter saying I was high risk and my interest rate was going on up, jesus what will they make of it now!!!

I'm also selling something next chance I can get into town but that won't keep me going for long and surely I'm just making problems by meeting full payments one month and then not another

I'd always lived close to the bone
but I can't sit back do nothing and hope it works out
Oh well least I'll not be 'eligable' for any 'payday loans' ha ha I got to laugh if nothing else
Don't suppose I can claim charges from my part time employer if I have to incur them?! (ok I really am wishing lol)

Anyone been in this situation?

  • Hi, i would call each of them and just let them know the situation. maybe they could lower your payments? At least if they're forewarned it might be in your favour?

No, dotn contact anyone yet. Can you post an SOA so we can understand the situation a little better? My guess is that you're probably not as badly off as you think and perhaps little juggling might bridge the shortfall.

  • That's true. The SOA did wonders for me, made me get my act together and see exactly if and where we could save any money.
