Simply Law / GE Money

Anyone have any experience with these? They seem slow and keep requesting documents already sent to them. They will only accept original documentation and not faxes from my solicitor. Any idea of how to hurry them up? We were supposed to exchange last week and they are slowing everything down immensely!

GE money are quite busy at the minute. Theyre taking about a week once they have all he paperwork.
They do only accept originals which can be quite frustrating but thats what they want thats what you have to provide, theyre lending you a lot of money.
i have no experience of simply law however so cant comment.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I thought that Simply Law must be used and are appointed by GE as they are their internal legal team? It is ridiculous they cannot use signed certified copies from my solicitors though... Do they not trust them too?0

Now they have everything from my solicitor it seems that they want to write to the vendors solicitor (this is a reposession!) What could they possibly want from them that my solicitor has not supplied to them, this means we will not exchange today, I am sure. Great!0

My partner is waiting for an answer on a consent of transfer of equity with GE. It's been painful from the start. 6 weeks after the application was sent through, they requested original documents. So we had to start the entire process again!
12 weeks on, still no answer.
Very slow response times from them.
I feel your pain0 -
In a way I am glad to hear that, but not in the way that it is stopping you from getting what you want.
They originally sent over 15 points to be confirmed by my solicitors, on receipt of those they have raised a further 5 points.
Out of interest does anyone know the likelyhood of exchange and completion on the same day with Simply Law, can they transfer immediately as they are in house, or do they take the 5 days?0 -
Both GE Money and Simply Law have been abismal from the start of the process, which was back in June 2012. We are looking to do a transfer of equity and only two weeks ago did GE Money look at our file and approve. Now Simply Law are dragging their heels in finalising this. These organisations have safely put me off ever using either one ever again!0
