Help needed

Hi, i do not know if this is the right place to post this, so sorry if it is.

I took a pay day loan out a while ago and fell behind on my payments. They took £850.00 out of my account last month and i agreed to pay £50.00 a month till the debt was cleared. I phoned up a couple of days before i was due to pay the £50 to make sure this was still ok.

They confirmed that this is fine and no other payments would be taken.

I find out today that they have taken another £800.00 out of my account and when i rang them and said they had broken an agreement that they had set up (also the £50 was a suggested by them) the response from them "they could not give me a refund only a re-loan for less than half the amount"

Have i got a leg to stand on here, i have logged a complaint.

Any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks

Id move your account to another bank asap so they cant get anymore of your money.

How much was the loan for ?
Does the money they took equate to what the loan plus charges are ?
  • Well the loan is now paid off, but its more the fact that they set up an agreement and have not kept to it

Whilst not in any way defending what they have done, I suspect that the irony of that sentence is completely lost on you.

I have to agree - you are complaining about them doing exactly what you have done. You won't get any money back as you DID actually owe them. Please head over to the debt free wanabee board where they can help you to cut down your expenses and hopefully be done with payday loans for good - this could be a blessing in disguise though I suspect you won't be able to see it that way yet.

If your loan with these people is paid off, and you can survive until the next pay day without borrowing then count yourself lucky.

Yes they broke their agreement but don't waste your time trying to make a point. Take it as a lesson learned, warn others and stay the hell away from these people.

Your experience with them is over move on.
