I received this message in connection with the freebie posting this morning......
Thank you for your recent enquiry to innocent animal products.
The reason for writing to you is due to the fact that our website has been identified within a selection of 'freebie' websites. Consequently we have been overwhelmed by the sheer number of requests for free product – several thousand in 48 hours. Unfortunately a previous experience has shown us that in these circumstances, the majority of enquiries are in fact not genuinely looking for vegetarian food but only in receiving free goods. We know this as we have a database with pre-registered names who have previously been sent free samples.
Innocent animal products is a young and small company whose primary goal is to embrace the vegetarian lifestyle for our pets in a healthy and nutritious way. We have a small but fast growing network of customers who follow these principals and to date we have not received a single complaint about our product. We are very proud of our achievements thus far.
Unfortunately however, the reality is that due to the scale and type of demand we have received in the last 48 hours, we have been forced to put on hold all the requests for free samples as we simply do not have the resources or inventory to satisfy all. We apologise for this inconvenience but hope that you can understand the reasons. Please be assured that it is not our normal policy to do this as we are keen to embrace all genuine vegetarian pet lovers with our products. If this is you then please write back to us and explain in more detail your position, how you found us and why you are looking for vegetarian dog food. We will be only too pleased to work with you if you are actively looking to embrace vegetarianism for your pets.
As a separate aside, we can advise you that if you are genuinely looking for vegetarian dog food then you may be interested to know of a special offer, which we are preparing for later this month. Commencing 26 March for 2 weeks only we will be offering 2 x 15kg bags of innocent delivered direct to your home address for £40.00 fully inclusive of vat and postage (2 x £5.00 p&p). This represents an equivalent of £1.33 per kilo which is a saving of £20.00 against the normal price of 2 x 15kg bags.
Our business has been created with the very best of intentions. We hope that you too will want to be part of our future.
Thank you for your support in the pursuit of protecting whilst simultaneously looking after our animals.
Kind regards

I actually feel quite bad about contacting them now....0 -
Lol! Glad they got control though. It's hard enough starting a small business without loads of fleecing like that.
When we had a dog we put him on veggie food - we're veggie and I wasn't going to give and buy meat just for the dog! But let me warn you, dogs are designed to digest meat - it kept him nourished, but by eck it wasn't fun to clean up afterwards :TProud to be dealing with my debts :T0 -
Some dogs (especialy those with some skin problems) do better on veggie food. Our vet recommended a beef free & gluten free diet for one of our dogs as he had digestive problems. I knew a veggie collie who lived till she was 16 and she outlived all her (meat eating) litter mates."I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again."

I can recommend a veggie diet for dogs. My dogs are mainly veggie, they just have a few meaty treats.
My previous dog was vegan from pup to old age.
Dogs would naturally eat lots of veg matter as wild ones show by eating the gut of their prey first. Prey is a veggie!
There are quite a few brands around if you search.0
