gatineau superskin tan accelerator

Hey all , can anyone give me a recommendation for the product, i'm looking at it on QVC just now but not too sure if it's worth that amount of money ,

I temd to burn in the sun and have to go to the tanning salon to get my skin used to the sun before i go on holiday, i'm wondering if this might be a better alternative

If this is a product that you apply a couple of weeks before you tan to raise the melanin to the surface then many years ago I used one from M&S and it was superb, I haven't used this brand but the science behind this type of product worked worked so well for me if I still sat in the sun I would use one again for definite, if its a product you put on after tanning to to prolong your colour Boots do an excellent on at a fraction of the cost:)
Thank you for this site Martin

Thanks glowgirl ... This one does both as far as i know...
  • Hi

I bought this product a couple of years ago, along with the Elemis tan accelerator (QVC got a lot of money off me that summer!) but I have to say that neither of them gave any results on me. The most I can say is that they were both excellent after sun creams. But my skin is determined to stay white and pasty so if you tan anyway this may work better for you.

Some reports say that these type of products are not good for the skin. Melanen(sp) coming to the surface means damage, these products push it to the surface.

Oh Gatineau is owned by Revlon, are pushed as a salon brand yet no one seems to have ever seen one.

Have to admit i am not so much looking for a tan as more of a not to burn, but a tan wouldve been nice :) ... i wasnt aware of revlon owning gatineau that is very interesting, i hadnt spotted a gatineau salon myslef but i put that down to me living in the sticks lol

might just give it a by though if there are concerns regarding health as i have enough to be dealing with just now with a t.i.a without adding skincare issues into the mix ... will stick with my factor 50 and save myself the money

    thanks everyone

I bought this a few years ago just before 2 weeks to USA, it was amaz-ing! Also the Elemis one (yeah, QVC gets a good deal of my wages!!) As a red head with fair skin I would recommend.

    Another QVC slave here!

I am currently using the Elemis one as I always burn then go white (apart from 4 weeks in France one summer where I actually went golden it lasted about 4 days after I got home) and after using it for about 10 days along with Ultrasun 20 I am actually starting to get a little colour here in the UK!!

Im not baking in it as I have been at work but had three lunch hours sitting in the park and can tell already... I think, it may just be wishful thinking! But not gone red yet which is result in my book :D

FWIW there are several Gatineau salons in France.

OP, I haven't tried this one but am currently testing the Piz Buin one, which is cheaper and does the same thing from how it sounds. It seems to work well but I am still trying to work out the science behind it/whether I am worried by the science behind it.
