NT stands for New Technology...
I don't think it does any more... Microsoft decided that it is just "NT" and not short for anything. Previously it was "New Technology", and before they came up with that I think might have just evolved by taking "MS" (as in Microsoft) and just using the successive letters "NT"... Not 100% sure about that though!
Ahh... just checked Wikipedia: apparently it derives from the name of the target processor for NT, the N10 or N-Ten... Who knew?!0 -

The screenshot I posted is from a 13 year old operating system in an era where they used the phrase "NT technology" a lot. Modern versions of windows are still referred to as NT - Windows 2000 was NT5, XP was 5.1, Vista was 6 and Windows 7 is 6.1.Oh, you wee bazza!0 -
What about incorrect corrections?!
The words "formulas" and "stadiums" are perfectly legitimate according to the Cambridge English Dictionary:

Oh dear. Then we are sunk; colour will soon lose its 'u'.
Alas the end is nigh...0 -
Our department had a new director brought in to modernise the IT department. The first thing on his agenda was to divide us into teams.
The servers and networking cabling would be the responsibility of the Network Information Technology Services.
Voice communications would be placed under the Telephony Information Technology Services.
Day-to-day support was provided by the General Information Technology Services.
His final modernisation was to make sure we all used the initialised versions of our team names as our email signature. e.g.
John Smith
NITS
The Support Helpdesk Information Technology Services team were the least amused by it all. Needless to say he wasn't there for very long before he got moved on.
A company I once worked for employed Remote Assistant Technicians or R.A.T.'s. who were based at 1 site. When we reduced the number of them and made them responsible for more than 1 site they became W.A.R.T's or Walking Around Remote Technicians.0
