Credit File Default Registered different time

Hi
I'm currently with Payplan on a DMP, due to end next year. My account with Halifax has been sold to BLS Collections.
Halifax have registered a default on my account but the date they have registered it is over a year since i defaulted. I understand defaults stay on credit file for 6 years from when they were registered so obviously that fact Halifax have registered it late means it will be on longer than actually should be.
I've contact Equifax and they have contacted Halifax. Halifax said they won't change it and to contact BLS Collections which is pointless as Halifax would need to change the date of the default.

Hi
I've just looked at my credit report and it shows that the account is marked as defaulted as opposed to Debt Management Plan which in that document you sent says they should make it as DMP.
In October 2009 they marked 2 payments late, we started the DMP in September 2009 i believe, so that makes sense. In November 2009 they marked 3 payments late then December 2009 they marked the account 3 payments late. In January 2010 the account was marked Arrangement to Pay. For the rest of 2010 it was marked as 3 months late and then January 2011 they marked a default and since then no further updates.
Looking at that document it states that they should of either marked it as DMP or shouldn't have filed a default as i kept up with the reduced payments.
What can I do?0 -
no such status as dmp, they should of marked it as default or APDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Sorry, trees I mean arrangement to pay for status, but another company has added a note of debt management plan0

in the public records part?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I'm not sure about public records part how do I tell?0

page 12 http://www.experian.co.uk/downloads/consumer/experian-YCRE.pdfThe following information may also be included with account details on your report.
Arrangement - The lender has agreed to vary your payments for a time.
Debt management programme - The lender has reported that the account has been included in a debt-management programme (for example, one organised by a citizens advice bureau, National Debtline or the Consumer Credit Counselling Service).0 -
I think its in the public part.
So what do you think regarding Halifax having a years statuses of 3 months in arrears then posting Arragenment to Pay, they accepted the offer with Payplan when we started the DMP, so surely they can't do this.0 -
APs should only be applied for 6 months according to that document, then is should be registered defaulted with a record your on a DMP in the public part so as to make the difference between someone making an effort to pay and someone who isnt.
a year after you had issues isnt uncommon as they register late payments initially. Once you entered a DMP they normally default you then - however they would be in guid lines to AP you then for 6 months - then re-assess and default you then if your still on the DMP.
Im currently fighting Barclaycard who registered me as AP when I went on my DMP - and it was STILL being registered as AP 10 years later - when according to that document it should have disappeared at the 6 year point (so as not to discriminate from someone who defaulted and didnt pay a penny).0 -
