Managed to stick to the plan :) Getting there!

Options
Morning all,

I've just been reading the last post i put up on Debt Free Wannabe forum 2 months ago (copied below) and pleased to say i've managed to stick to continuing paying off the CCs and slashing the debt :) This has been the tighest month as I paid as much as i could leaving myself with a massive £3.31 now until next Tuesday, lol, but at least we have a lot of food in the house and bills all paid! As we stand, we're off to Benidorm in 2 weeks and Turkey in 5 weeks by the time we come home from Turkey i'll only have ONE credit card instead of the FOUR that i had last year! That one is IO until January, so come July/August i'm going to start having savings for the first time in years and also start overpaying the mortgage which i'm looking forward too. At 34, i'm hoping that i'll be moving over to the Mortgage Free Wannabe's soon and hope to be mortgage free by 45-50years old! Heres hoping :):) Keep plugging everyone :):) Some months (ie now!) i get so disheartened, i want to go out and buy new summer clothes, bikinis etc but i know i've loads in my wardrobes that will do and pay day next week i'll treat myself to a new bikini, flipflops and a dress or two as long as i pay the usual £800-£1k off CC as well and purchase them from Primark, New Look or Ebay!!

Hi all, just an encouraging note for those with debts who are feeling that they will never go away.... this time last year i had 1 loan and 4 credit cards amounting to £14k. As off today i have 2 CCs worth £5550 and no loan with plans to only have one CC by June, which will be paid of by October :):) This means i can go with our dream of trying for a baby come the summer :):) I am delighted as we've put off trying from we married 16months ago as i didn't want to start a family in debt and given my age of mid-30s this is something i feel i must press on with! Good luck to everyone, it does get easier and there is light at the end of the tunnel! We even have 2 holidays planned for the end of the summer (instead of paying the usual £500-£1000 on debt everymonth)! Maybe the holidays, no debt and baby plans might just be in sight... heres hoping!!!

Thank you, just saw your Total Debt of £36,166... scary but you can do this :):) As i say disheartening some months when you want to buy other things but when you get to near the end of paying the debt off it's a great feeling. Next month i'll be glad to think that my debt (excluding mortgage) will be UNDER £3k!!! Good luck :) and thanks :)
