Thursday 24th May - What small DFW things will you do today??

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. :money:

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!

    • Going to drive the dog to the woods, too hot for the park today. I had to wipe him down with cold water after yesterday lunchtime's walk!!
    • Having a good tidy and clean.
    • Might park for free and walk into town to use free £5 m&s voucher. They've got a nice mug for a fiver!:money:

    Hello everyone

Has been a few days but with all that's going on that's probably how it will go until I get another job.

Anyho, this is what I've done / will do:
Cut fringe - done and it doesn't look too bad :rotfl:
    Check bank account - done
Cancel DDs to creditors - done
Post ebay items - half done
Check jobs website - in process
Email contacts to see if they have any work to throw my way
Lunch from remainder of dinner last night
    Dinner from stores
PAD - cleared one overdraft :T

    All the best everyone.
  • Gosh it's quiet on here today...
I'm enjoying the sun through the window at work. It's better than the rain anyway, even if it is me stuck here whilst it's gorgeous outside.
    Things I've done
    :) checked bank account
:) washing done and hung out
:) searched (unsuccessfully) for deal voucher for OH birthday night out Saturday
:) stuck to diet even though my line manager brought ice creams into work for all of us (bless him)
:) taking the kids for dinner at a friend's house and then to the park for a cheap evening out
Think that's it - must admit I'm struggling to find my motivation a bit today.

    Hi everyone

Hope you don't mind me joining in. I think I have posted on these threads before, but really must stick to it :o.

Well done on clearing your overdraft 925pws :T. I laughed at the fringe cutting bit - I did mine the other day and am always worried I'm going to cut it wonky or way too short.

80 hours of overtime Carrie?? Blimey!!. You sound like you deserve a well earned break. (it's Thursday by the way ;):D).

Anyway, so far today I have/will:

Shred a load of old paperwork - Done
Calculate my debt total  - Done
Sort out TV licence and water DDs - Done
Order £10 Next voucher for BIL's birthday from Opinion World - Done
Order new home phone from Amazon with survey money - Done
Find out best website to recycle old mobile phone and get it packaged up
Do a load of washing and hang on airer to dry
    NSD
    Superpoints - Done
    JPJ free game - Done
    Play on free bingo sites
Keep up to date with surveys

Think that's it for now. Hope everyone is enjoying this lovely weather :).

    Thanks Emz and welcome back.

Yes the fringe, well it is difficult to cut since I can barely see without my glasses but sure isn't that the style these days :rotfl:

Just looking at your to do - I have yet to total my debt :o One day at a time at the moment but I will get to it.

Late on the thread. Been a busy day today. DS is autistic and has an appointment at the childrens centre tomorrow, so I'm taking the day off, so needed to fit two days work into one.

A second NSD in a row for me :j

Lunch was sandwiches from home, and dinner was from stores - some mussels that needed using up today in a white wine sauce with salad. Was lovely.

Washing is out on the line, I'm leaving it to dry overnight so hope there's no rain

Nothing much else to report on the DFW front today
Debt free since December 2015. It can be done

walked to sisters house rather than taking car
