Hi
Exchanged contracts monday, sol sent of certificate of title to lender on monday confirming complete this friday. We paid ours funds by TT to sol today.
I emailed asking him if when nationwide mortgage funds would be there and he replied with "should be friday"
Which seems a little vague to me, does he just send the cot off and hope monies are there on completion date  Surely the lender responds and confirm yes we'll make the tt on this day etc and give confirmation funds will be released etc !! the "should" has made me panic so i emailed him again and got an out of office !!
Any advise, comments re this ? I hoping the sol doesn't just rely on keeping his fingers crossed all ok and will chk on completion day ?!
Thanks in advance:)

Do not worry, typically they can check at 9am and if not there still receive the funds later in the day.
Solicitors are risk averse creatures and will never over commit.

oh thanks,
Yes he local, just very short and sweet in his replies !! Think he's fed up of us pestering him aswell. Do they normally only send money on actual completion day ? Seems quite tight to me ! Also if there was a problem would nationwide have been in touch by now - not that im expecting there will - we haven't taken out a £20k loan or gone bankrupt in between lol, but this forum and horror stories have made me super paranoid !0 -
No-one posts about the straighforward completions - a little knowledge and all that...
Sols may even get the funds on Thursday, or can get anytime on Friday. Us brokers and solicitors do this everyday so sometimes we just get arrogant with the process.

Unfortunately due to the blame society we live in people are reluctant to say 100% that something will happen when it is out of their control.
Your solicitor has probably already requested the funds and fully expects them to be in place as required. However there may well be a banking collapse, computer glitch, or any other event which prevents it.
Having a client on the phone saying 'You told me it would definitely happen' is no good for anybody.
Throw caution to the wind and have the whole bottle of wine! Don't worry about it, I am sure it will all be fine.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Haha thanks gms ! Yes you've convinced me to have the whole bottle.
Ok it's not that i want him to tell me 100% guaranteed it will be there no matter what. More reassurance the request has gone in, NW have confirmed receipt and there are no foreseen problems i suppose. I keep questioning myself like when we went through all details with MA did they right down it was a gifted deposit so nationwide are aware of this ? It's not gonna be a shock when they get the cot and then pull out at the 11th hour. Going through every scenario in my headAfter this i'm never buying a house again !!!
