Hello!
As title suggests my DD school is holding a Best of British day to celebrate the jubilee and children need to go as a british icon or landmark(!) from the last 60years
My 6 yo has decided she wants to be 'Princess Kate' but I am stuck of ideas on how to transform her. I was thinking of either the blue engagement dress or a copy of her wedding dress but I am not particulary good with the old sewing machine!
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions which may help?
Or any other alternative ideas of icons/landmarks!

It's a bit of a tough one as great hair aside, Kate doesn't have any replicable features or characteristics that are uniquely "Kate". There are lots of cheap costume versions of the engagement ring around though, that might be a start. Also you could rock that Kate-look make-up (just for the day, she is only 6!) by following this tutorial.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

As the others have said there isn't anything to make her stand out as Kate, apart from maybe a wig like her hair, and the ring. I think if you are going for a dress, you should go for the blue engagement one. I expect there will be A LOT of little girls dressed as princesses in white 'wedding' dresses!
If it was me, I'd go different and be a bottle of HP Sauce or the like :rotfl:- but I'm sure your DD won't be best pleased with that!0 -
Why don't you just do her up all garden party with a floral skirt, little jacket , gloves, handbag shoes and hat or fascinator and then put a big name badge with Princess Kate written on it. Or you could do the same but get a picture of kate, increase it to actual size and stick it to cardboard with a little stick as a kate mask. i think you can actually buy these cardboard masks in some party shops.0

Why don't you tell her to follow a boy around all day and not do any schoolwork until he gives her a ring?0
