Do Creation Finance ever play ball when it come to DMP?

I recently contacted Payplan re setting up a DMP... however over the weekend I have read a LOT re my main creditor (19K) Creation finance have 3 loans and 3 credit cards with them :( stories scared me so much re Creations lack of any help and bullying tactics I have put off starting the DMP..... does anyone have ANY mildly positive experiences with Creation so I can make a more informed decision.....

I have no experience with Creation. I will however encourage you to start on your debt free journey. You will feel so much better in yourself when you do. If the calls get to much, you could always turn your phone off.

I wish you all the luck in the world what ever you decide to do xx
    :T:T:T I'm finally debt free:T:T:T
  • I sent my SOA to them a couple of weeks ago, but they have not responded to me.

I've Started my own DMP, and so far 3 of my creditors have been helpful :j £32k debt, and as Soon as I started it, I have finally been able to have a good night's sleep.

And to help manage the amount phone call's I just updated my contact numbers to a payg sim.

    Best of Luck
  • Thanks fifi and wantto :)

I have gone onto creation website and changed contact details as u have done wantto not sure if that will work but heres hoping x also told my partner last night what was going on this was my main reason for not going ahead with DMP as obviously if phone starts ringing at all hrs theres gonna be questions asked.....

initial reaction wasnt great to say the least however he has calmed down (slightly) gonna phone payplan in a bit and get the ball rolling .... i know i was just putting off the inevitable still feel sick to my stomach tho that have been so stupid and its come to this :(

  • I've set up a DMP using CCCS and I recommend this rather than doing it yourself. However, all my other creditors have played ball including MBNA, TESCOs and Barclaycard except for Creation. They have changed my situation but are still charging me 15% interest which means of the £70 I pay them a month £50 is going on interest. This situation is causing me a real headache and I am starting to think I may have to go for an IVA.

    Hi Nomad0404 :hello:

Have your tried contacting the FOS regarding the ongoing interest charges? They really helped us with Lloyds TSB and are currently trying to assist with M&S.

Give it a go, the phone call is free and they are extremely friendly, helpful and efficient :)

  • I have set up DMP with payplan, 1st payment due out 1st July... surprisingly been very very quiet re calls etc.... and received barclaycard statement this morning which shows account temp suspended and interest rate 0% so so far looking positive....

with regards to Creation have sent them 6 emails, 3 contact us messages (where they say they will respond in 1hr!!) and 2 by post letters... have received no response other than 3x £30 charge for cancelling Direct Debits and a £25 charge for a letter they sent advising of arrears.... Payplan have contacted them twice now regarding current balances and twice they have responded regarding all accounts and stated a nil balance!! (i owe them in total 19k!!) the last letter, email and contact us message I sent them i stated unless they respond to Payplan with the current balances on the account I will be unable to allocate any pro rata payment under the DMP and therefore will continue to make token payments of £1 to each account until the information is provided to Payplan, this correspondence was sent before the 2nd request for balances was sent out from Payplan and they have still ignored ill be making a complaint to the FOS if they continue this nonsense....... if they still continue to state there is a nil balance i may just take their word for it lol....

  • I haven't had any experience with Cretin Finance either - that will definitely be their new name from now :rotfl:

I would be tempted to leave them to sort this out but it will probably mean they will continue piling charges on, which is always very tough at the start of a DMP as it makes your first payments look they are doing nothing.

Am not sure if Payplan work in the same way to CCCS but we were unable to make payments to all of our creditors in the first month due to a delay in changing bank accounts. CCCS held on to the payment and made double payments the next month.

Well done on starting up your DMP :T
