MOT and Taxed till end of July, 108K miles, 1 lady owner. Although the seller is one of those home trader types...
Advert says it "starts and drives great"

I'm thinking about getting a cheap old runabout as a summer project.

If its genuine enough, at little over scrap value, it would be positively rude not to make a nice cash offer on it. Cheap transport, ready buyers around and scrap values decent enough to take almost all risk out of it.0

If you're serious about it pay £40/£50 for an MOT first locally, you may be in for a surprise, then you can talk turkey or walk.0

It's up for £275 but I got it down to £250 before even going to look at it. Going to view it tomorrow if it hasn't sold by then.
I'll be sure to check for MOT advisories.

If scrappies still pay £200 for a car, then you have got a car for two months for £50 - bargain!
Whatever you do with it next means that you are quids in.0 -
Go for it. Check the mot online for advisories from last year though to get an idea of what might be waiting
Edit - lee said same thing.0 -
The seller text me at tea time saying I can have it for £200 only if I came this evening for it. (I originally offered £200 but he counter offered £250) I couldn't go due to other plans so I wrote back saying I can come and see it tomorrow but not heard back.
