O/S Wedgie coating?

Options
Hello everyone!
Hope you are all having a great day. Just done my online shop and as usual ordered 2 packets of onion and chive wedgie coating (kids absolutely love them). Two packs = 85p.
My question is this, is there a way of making my own coatings and if so can any of you good people let me know how exactly. Sorry if its a daft question! :o
Also what different coatings can i try?
Thanks in advance! :D

Have you got a packet to hand? What are the ingredients?

It is possible to buy onion powder, herbs etc so you might be able to experiment to get a good copy without any of the nasties that come in these things to give them a shelf life.

I use Schwartz American Barbecue Seasoning - yumm

Ingredients (if you want a go at your own)
    onion
    salt
    chili powder
    sugar (optional, I'm sure)
    coriander seed
    paprika-ka-ka-ka
    garlic
    mustard flour
    cayenne pepper
    tomato

I guess just experiment with herbs and spices.....

And yes - I am having a great day. Thanks
Hope yours is equally great :D

unfortuneately i havent got a packet to hand (the last 2 online shops failed to deliver them!).
TNG i think i will get some of the american barbeque seasoning, the packets i use are schwartz aswell. i take it this seasoning is in the small glass jar? i never even thought to look at the seasonings in the small jars doh!
  • My favourite and definitely better for you is:
crushed cornflakes, garlic, little bit salt & Pepper mixed with olive oil. Don't peel the potatoes just give them a good wash, cut into wedges, Roll around in the mixture, place on greased/oiled baking tray or dish and cook in oven. You can adjust how much garlic you put in according to your taste, but try them - you'll love them.

I love wedges done with cajun spice - the fiddes payne stuff in the little metal tin is one of the nicest I've found. Just coat the wedges with oil and sprinkle some one, bake and eat!

In the jars, Yes. They also have a 'Spicy season-all', which might be worth a go. Only haven't done it myself cos DS2 doesn't do spicy (yet!)

Only EVER peel potatoes if I'm going to make crisps with the peelings :D (olive oil, salt, on a baking tray and in the oven)

For a different kind of taste to the usual spicy wedges - roll in olive oil and lemon juice (bottled stuff will do), then sprinkle with dried thyme. Works well on sweet potatoes too :)
