Advice Needed - Simple Ways To Save?

Hi there,
Wasn't sure which section to post this in...
I would like to try and save money here and there, anything from utility bills, food shopping, entertainment etc. I was hoping I could get some advice on handy ways to do so - along the lines of keeping your central heating below a certain temperature and recycling things, to haggling cable tv bills etc...I'd like to hear any suggestions!
I have been really uneducated in the art of saving so any tips would be much appreciated, no matter how insignificant.
Thanks very much!

The first thing you need to do is read through the main website - there are loads of tips for saving money on utility bills, shopping etc.
Once you have sorted those things out then posting up an SOA (Statement of Affairs - see sticky at top of thread) once you have sorted out your budget. You need to include not only things you pay monthly but also annually like car insurance, MOT, TV licence.
HTH.

Hi
Have at look at the big saves to start with - so perhaps start with the money makeover - http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/money-help
When you've done that you might want to consider a statement of affairs (not the budget brain tool because the statement of affairs has more useful information). If you decided to post that on here then people should be able to spot the areas you could target to try to find savings. Eg if your petrol looks high - people will give you tips on that - Cheap Petrol & Diesel
If groceries seem high - Supermarket Shopping Downshift & more, halve weekly bills
etc etcA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
