Seems like a very good deal for a top quality tap ...

Relatively perhaps. I just think that taps per-se are overinflated. Even at less than half price, £50.00 for a tap just feels ridiculously expensive.

I often think we can be fooled into thinking things are a bargain, because they can be much more expensive. Whereas sometimes it's worth stepping back to look at some afresh.

    Thanks for sharing though, regardless.

Doesn't seem like much of a deal to me.

Do you work for Taps Empire?

I remember a while back Aldi doing an almost identical tap for about £15.

Let me clarify that I am an independent landlord and am always on the lookout for good quality bathroom stuff for tenanted properties. I agree that there are cheaper taps around (http://www.victorianplumbing.co.uk/Modern-Single-Lever-Basin-Tap-DTY305.aspx), but for a quality German tap, I really feel it is a good price. In my experience, these taps last a lot longer than the cheaper imports, and are therefore very cost effective in the long run.

As many here would agree, Grohe taps are used in hotels and commercial toilets (McDonalds being one example), and that does say something about the quality. BTW, I don't work for Grohe either, and I'm not German :)
