Tuesday 22nd May - What small DFW things will you do today??!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!

Morning all!! So it's Tuesday, another day another dollar (although I'm not sure I even earn that much :rotfl: )

Hope everyone is well. Todays plan:

* All meals from stores
* Put airer outside as the sun is finally here!
* Check banks
* Hunt for cheapest petrol on way to work (convinced there is a 4p difference :eek:)
* Must clean up
* Dad is coming to cut the grass today (I don't own a mower), all he'll require is coffee and praise (much cheaper than a gardener!)
* Start the eternal hunt for affordable present for OH's birthday (the only thing he can think that he wants is £200!)

Have a good one all

S x
I have enough money for the rest of my life... as long as I never have to pay for anything again!

    Morning everyone. Thanks sunshine for starting us off

    Well my home made curry was fantastic last night, but the whole house stinks of curry when you first walk in :rotfl:I'll be having the leftovers with a jacket potato tonight.

    Working from home today, as I've got loads of notes from yesterdayu's meetings. One of my colleagues in another department is leaving, and I've agreed to oversee their workload until their replacement arrives. I'm hoping that, if I make a god impression, the replacement will be me. So, had a handover meeting yesterday and got a whole heap of stuff from him that I need to get formalised.

    I'll never concentrate on it if I'm in the office. Mind, looking at the sunshine, I probably won't concentrate at home either. :D

    Checked online banking, the tv licence dd has gone out but that was expected, and my stepmother's cheque has cleared :j

    Dinner will be salad, as the lettuce is starting to wilt, so want to get it used up quickly. Used the water from the kettle when I made my coffee this morning to hard boil some eggs to save boiling it twice. Tea is leftover curry as mentioned earlier.

    It wont be a NSD, as I need to buy a couple of birthday cards - one for my niece and one for a friend, but I'll go to the discount shop so should be less than £1.

    Then I need to make a couple of phone calls, as I need to check up on some paperwork with the solicitor, and want to book a campsite for a weekend away in July with the boys, but I can use the work phone for that :D

    Have a great day everyone

    Very productive day so have decided to give myself the evening off and do the ironing tomorrow. Will just chill and watch Holby.

    Hope everyone has had a great day, it's very quiet on here today.

    Hi all, another late check in so this is what I've done today:
    • NSD :j
    • Low petrol day
    • Set up new business account and got 18 months free banking, will save around £30 a month.:money:
    • Packed lunches all round.
    • Found a £1 coin.:)
    • Dinner will be risotto with left over chicken and left over bacon.
    • Checked accounts.
    Ooh, and I forgot this one (don't get too excited!). Our boiler has not worked properly since before Xmas (now saving for a new one). Needed to see if I could get any hot water first thing this morning and REMEMBERED to put a bucket in the sink to use 'wasted' water for flushing the loo! Sometimes it's the small things that give the greatest sense of achievement.:rotfl:
