Nursery Payments

I have a three year old child who, I believe, will be entitled to childcare assistance from 1st April. Can anyone tell me how this will work.

At the moment she goes to a Kiddie Caru nursery one day a week (8 hours) near to where my wife works. We are thinking when we get financial assistance of sending her for two other morning sessions at a nursery which is very close to where we live, but still keeping her going to the Kiddie Caru one as she is at the moment.

Would we receive the financial assistance or would all sessions have to be at the same location? Am I correct in my thinking that she would have to attend a minimum of 12.5 hours a week?

Thanks for any help/advise that you are able to give :)

  • From what i know you are entitled to 2.5 hrs per day but you can't split this between 2 locations.
If she currently attends for 8 hrs then you would have to Pay for the other 5.5 hrs.
    Hope that makes sense

I'm guessing her 3rd birthday is between Jan 1st-March 31st. You'll have to check with the nursery when the funding kicks in with both of mine the funding didn't kick in till 1st week of May. You can take the funding at differenct locations as long as it doesn't exceed 12.5 hours but check how it works in you area.
