Can anybody PLEASE help me with his, I am going around in circles and feel like I am going mad. I opened an account with Argos in 2007. In 2009 my pay was put on hold meaning I got paid late a couple of times due to a disability I have. I got in touch with argos to advise I would pay in 5 days time the balance was about £140. They said the account was due to go into default in 2 days but as I had called they were putting a payment hold on the account for 5 days which meant that if i made the payment within the 5 days it would not be defaulted. Low and behold a day later I recieved a letter from Moorcroft advising the debt had been passed over to them and the account gone to default. I am livid because it is now 3 YEARS on and the default has not been removed. I have called them hundreds of times to be advised by several members of staff that it would be removed. I spoke to the manager who is now dealing with this informing me that they followed all procedures correctly and the default should be there and they will remove it if i can prove the telephone call from 3 years ago when they said they would put a payment hold on. I have been the financial ombudsman with this I just want this removed how can this be done??

You say you have called 100s of times - did you write to explain what had happened, what you had been told on the phone?
Did you also write a formal complaint before you went to the FOS - and give the creditor time to give you their final response?
You say you have been the the FO - what did they conclude?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
no i didnt write to them myself I got in touch with the fos straightaway, it got ignored so i then wrote a formal complaint included copies of my credit file and also telephone records of all the calls I had made. they then advised me that they could not help any further as they could not locate my account, so I went back to the fos and started my complaint all over again sending in documents etc, they have given me a point of contact which i spoke to before who advised me now that they want proof of the phone call from 3 years ago, called fos again before they just updated records and advised me they are still chasing argos...still no decision made0

If you called 100 times, have you got the phone billsDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
