Something delivered I didn't order!

Not sure how the scam would work as it wouldn't affect me and has my details. Seems more plausible someone's ordering system got messed up. My surname begins with "A". I guess for a product of that value the intended owner will report not receiving it and then the company will check their records and realise the mistake. I will sit back for a while but wont give to any couriers unless I agree it with the supplier.0

Put them in storage. If anybody knocks on your door insist they provide identification and the name of the supplier. Then contact the supplier and insist they either give you permission to pass the goods on to the person or they collect the goods.
If no contact is made after say 6-9 months maybe consider selling it?0 -
It affects you if it is a scam because the original (real) courier would have the details of where it was delivered. Yes, I know you didnt sign for them but you know yourself that it was indeed delivered.
It was delivered to you, you gave it away to somebody unknown, they could i suppose go after you for the money/contents. See what I mean.
If you dont want to do anything else, just put the box in the loft/garage/shed and forget about it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
This reminds me of a similar scam posted up a short while back.
Somebody received a parcel at their address for a phone sent by one of the major network operators. The chap came to the door in slippers, apologised and took the parcel. The next thing they know the phone company are asking them for money or the item.
Although the difference here is it was sent to you personally and not a different name, but you need to be very cautious here, especially with it being such an expensive item. The last thing you want is for the sender to claim you breached your duty of care.0 -

But if nothing was signed and the courier just left the parcel at the back door, when they come back for it how can they prove that they left the parcel?
When I came home there was nothing left at my back door.
You have a couple of choices, deny everything or waste time trying to find out where the parcel came from.
It depends how honest and caring you are.0 -
Put them away for a little while, if not contact in 3 months put them on ebay.0
