Got default removed

Hi guys,
hope someone can help!
I had a few issues with a car loan and they put a default on my credit file. I contacted equifax and they investigated the issue and agreed it should be removed. This is the response I got...
'having reviewed the history of the account & having noted the arrangement that was in place I am prepared to authorise the removal of the default. Please remove.'
Does anyone have any idea how long it will take to come off my report?
Also, anyone have any idea if I will need to contact each credit reference agency?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yes you need to contact each of the 3 agencies that the default appears on seperately.
In general it seems equifax are more willing to remove a default without permission from the lender than experian.
If it appears on experian you might well find it more difficult to get them to remove the default - they may well refuse until the car loan lender tells them to remove it.
Regarding equifax - I'd guess anything from immediately to a couple of weeks for them to remove it.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks for your help
Having re-read the response its actually the car loan company who have sent the request to have it removed so im unsure if they have just sent it to equifax or all... I suppose I should just check in a months time0
