I recently got a letter from Lewis debt recovery on behalf of CL Finance asking for me to pay some un-paid debts. I called the company and explained that I have no exsisting debts so asked who this was for. They said it was for Shopacheck, a company I had used in the past but had no exsisitng debts with. I also no the agent who I used to pay was sacked for fraud. They sent me a copy of the original document to prove this is my debt and what i recieved was an agreement in my name at my mothers address and was not even signed. When i explained i was aware that the agent had offered loans to other family members in the past in MY NAME and the fact that this was not even signed that it was therefore not my debt, I have recieved a final demand and feel I am getting no where with the company. Can someone PLEASE HELP as i am trying to save for a mortgage and do not need bad credit for a debt that is not mine.

I would inform them that THEY have been a victim of fraud and the fact it mentions your name is of no concern as you are not the victim who has suffered loss they are.
Just make sure they can not get hold of a copy of your signature !Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
