"No Sale" Graffitis on (and in) Houses that are up for Sale?

In the last week we watched three houses that on paper seemed to fulfill most of our criterias (Detached, big, on at least 3/4 acre etc.).

But 2 of the houses came with strange "attachements". On one (slightly) unfinished house all the Interior walls and floors had big "No Sale" Graffitis.

Then we viewed another house yesterday and were greeted with a big handpainted "No Sale" sign at the gate. When we then made it up the driveway there were also several of those Graffitis on the exterior of the House.

Now I was wondering if that would only be slightly disgruntled ex-owners who might have lost their houses to the bank, or if there is something else behind it.

Anyone any Ideas?

I spotted a house like that yesterday too - the windows were boarded up and the boarding on each window had "No sale" in massive letters painted onto them. V.strange - I assumed that it was a repossession or some other equally miserable event had befallen the previous occupants. This was a house between Meigh and Camlough in Co.Armagh.

Funnily enough, that's exactly where the 2 Houses we looked at are located. Must be something specific to the Area then. :D
  • Sounds like the sort of thing a disgruntled owner of a re-possessed proprty would do....

Could be a case where contractor (site owner) has gone belly up and bank have stepped in and appointed a fixed charge receiver to complete the build and sell the house to try and recoup some of the monies owed by the contractor BUT where the original tradesmen (builder, plumber, plasterers etc) maybe have not been paid all owing to them and are now not getting to finish off the job - I know of a few where this has happened and disgruntled builder has tried to wreck any potential sale.
