Anti Bacterial spray that is eco friendly do they exist?

Is is possible to get a eco friendly spray that is also anti bacterial?

I don't know about commercial products but I have read on OS that slightly diluted Tea-Tree Oil is a natural anti-bacterial and antisceptic. I suppose it would depend on the service that you wanted to spray it on as to whether it was a practical solution. :o

I use a tea tree spray cleaner from Lakeland but I've looked on their website and can't seem to find it anymore, sorry. It's green, comes in a big bottle of concentrate with a spray bottle attached (once the spray is used up you refill with two caps of concentrate and water) and was about £5.50 for the whole lot.

It might be worthwhile asking if they still have some, it's lovely stuff although be warned it can leave green marks on corners (like on the inside of the toilet lid) if you can't get it off properly!

I've had a little look around and although I can't vouch for them as I've never used them http://www.teatreedirect.co.uk/ do an anti bac surface cleaner, although their website won't load properly for me so good luck!

    Make your own!

I have a spray bottle from the garden centre, filled with water and with 10 drops of lemon essential oil, 5 drops of tea tree and 5 drops of lavender in it.
I use it to spray worksurfaces, tables, the floor and used it on my dd's hands when she was little.

Cheap to make, antibacterial and contains no harmful chemicals.....

I think people sometimes get a bit paranoid about bacteria, since there is a huge industry trying to sell us unnecessary antibacterial stuff.

I use a mix of 50/50 white vinegar + water, then some drops of tea tree oil. You can get larger sizes of the oil and vinegar (and even handy squirter if you don't have a spare!) from https://www.summernaturals.co.uk According to what I've read, thisis a natural anti bac! (Any vinegary smells go away pretty quickly once it's dry!)

I only use a ratio of 1:5 on my vinegar and water and none of us have died off yet or thinking about it even been mildly ill and DD is only 2 1/2.

Proves my point, perhaps. Remember that children shouldn't be brought up in sterile environments, or their immune systems don't develop properly. And unnecessary antibacterial agents simply encourage bacteria to evolve to resist them, reducing our armoury of defensive weapons when they are actually needed.

Thanks for the advice about the ready made stuff. It will come in very handy http://www.summernaturals.co.uk is excellent as they look like they sell everything that you would need to make up your own cleaning stuff.

You are right that we are going made about anti bac stuff and I am almost completely taken into this hype to get us to buy the things. I think by making my own I am cleaning in a natural way and killing some bacteria .. but I also know that it is good to have some bacteria for our bodies to be strong..

I have one question. When you make your vinega+water+teatree+lemon mixture do you need to shake it each time you use it to mix the ingredience altogether? What I am thinking is that the oils will sit at the top of the spray bottle and ever be used...

    thanks everyone.
