Hello
My names callum, its really just to get some advice on my situation, when i was younger i was a little s**t and decided that i would change my passport date of birth to a different date of birth which would make me old enough to get a payday loan, i recieved a few as no credit checks was been made, it was that type of loan *sigh* now that ive turned 18 ive got accepted for a phone contract and a credit card of 1500. All i want to know is the loans that i tried to get in the past will that affect my credit or will it affect the ''Callum who doesnt exist because of a different date of birth'' because everytime i try and get credit now, i just get declined altogether. Is this because of my age, now ive just done a credit report from callcredit and what they said was my credit rating was 1
this is !!!!. I Cant seem to get another credit report as my details cannot be verified it says, i think this is because they may have the fake date of birth rather than my real one and they dont know which to load, even when i went to virgin media they said my details was incorrect from the ones equifax had. Im pressuming somewhere down the line, something has gone terribly wrong and i need to sort this out, other than that maybe my credit is just bad because im just starting out and no credit is bad credit maybe? HELP!?!?!?!?!?!?!:money:

I would lay very low for a while as you've actually committed fraud.
The numbers given by CRA's are as much use as a chocolate teapot. These are not figures used by lenders, they all have their own acceptance levels which is not known by the customer.
Think yourself lucky you've got the credit card and phone contract.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0 -
As steve says, you have committed fraud - no wonder the credit companies are confused!
My advice would be to not seek any more credit. Maybe you should think about developing your general budget and money management skills rather than trying to get as much credit as possible. In fact if I were you I'd cut up that credit card.Savings target: £25000/£25000

I agree - this is fraud pure and simple. I would keep your head down and hope noone would take it further!Official DFD: Dec 29Challenge DFD: July 23Debts Cleared: 1/13Building EF: £20/£600 3%0

I wont repeat what others have said, as it's correct and there's no point banging on about it. When you do an application for credit, previous apps and live accounts are visible. This is your problem, you're telling for example Vodafone you were born in 1990 when in fact you were born in 1996. Often if the databases don't match, the application just gets thrown out. Now my first thought is that if you make no new applications for a year that will at least help you a little, as search data isn't visible for the full 6 yrs, only 1. But that leaves the accounts that you have open. You've made a bit of a mess here, and aside from closing everything, and waiting 6 years for everything to drop off your credit files, I can't see a way out.
I don't mean to be disrespectful, but as you were so desperate to commit fraud in the first place, you're not going to do that. Good luck whatever you decide to do.0 -
i understand that this is fraud, but what i am asking is: the missed payments and that from the fake date of birth person, is that affecting my real credit or???0
-
Most likely, it wouldn't surprise me if one (or more) of the companies that you have applied to have flagged a CIFAs entry on your credit file.0
-
Also, just a thought. If you're going to admit to committing fraud in a public forum - perhaps choose a user name that isn't yours (or someone's) name spelled backwards...0
-
This has to be a troll, I can't see anyone being stupid enough to sign up to a public forum with their real name and basically admitting to fraud.0

You'd be surprised Andrew - there are some real idiots out there!0

I've had a similar situation but it was by accident - When I was 13 my school ran a "pocket money" branch of Midlands Bank (now HSBC). I accidentally managed to become overdrawn with a child's account by mis-counting when a cheque would be put in (babysitting pay occasionally came in cheque for me). Turns out a 14 year old with an overdrawn account is very bad (even if it was only by £4!). The cheque then bounced (babysitting for single mums is occasionally risky) and it sat as overdrawn for 3 weeks before the bank just made it up to Nil.
If the payday loans don't show on the credit reports (actually look at the detail, don't bother about the score) then it won't affect your ability to get credit on its own. However, you may be flagged as a "potential ID theft" on your file which will default almost all credit applications to manual auth only.
As an 18 year old with 1.5k on a CC and a mobile phone and some bad behaviour in the past (and no indication of monthly income), I would from a personal perspective cut up the card and wait a few years. Your mobile will help build credit rating in the meantime but don't mess it up.0
