Would this beef be ok to use?

Options
Hiya, I took some frying steak out the freezer Friday morning and put it straight into the fridge to defrost. I remembered too late we were going out for a meal, tonight we've been out again so the steak is still sat in the fridge.
Would it be ok o use tomorrow or is it best going o the dog?
Thanks x

it will be fine it has been there what? 36 hours? it is probably not even fully defrosted yet anyway.. I have to get things out of the freezer at least 3 days before I want to use them or they are still frozen!

    Hi lovesabargain,

It will depend on the beef. If you bought it on it's use by date by the time you come to eat it, it will be two days past it's use by date. If you bought and froze it with a week left before it's use by date then it will probably be fine.

No one can give you a difinitive answer here as we can't see the beef, but I would use common sense. If it looks ok, then smell it. If it smells ok then cook a tiny bit...taste it and if it tastes fine then I'd probably eat it.

I'll add your thread to our food safety thread later as your question may help others.
