Hi everyone, I wonder if anybody can help me please. I receive a Spanish pension as I worked there for over 20 years and paid contributions. Now I have read that many Spanish banks are in trouble. Do you think it could affect my Pension.

Basically, yes. It increases the likelihood that Spain will be obliged to freeze or even reduce pensions in order to meet its deficit reduction targets. Greece was obliged to introduce pension cuts earlier this year. No one can guarantee that Spain will not find itself obliged to do the same.0 -
Hi Electricco. It is a state pension as I had worked there for 23 years and paid contributions all the time which has increased in the past month. I have only been receiving it since January 2012. It took 6 months to sort it out but I knew I would be entitled. Now after reading the post from Antrobus that it will stop or at least be reduced due to its deficit. I know a greek man whose father had his pension reduced to half at least 1 year ago. Naturally I have been concerned this could happen to me. Seeing this in black and white is very hard to bear.
Thank you all for your advice though.0
