To be fair those are cases where the endowment was assigned and it is right that the lender should take responsibility to put alternative payment in place but I think its very different with a non assigned policy and as far as I can see we dont know if this was assigned or not. I cant remember when but the Halifax gave up assigning policies a long time ago.I like to give people as many choices as possible to do what I want them to. (Milton H Erickson I think)0

also, over the years, people remortgage but the assignment remains with the original firm. They get told about a lapse and if they no longer have an interest, they dont care. That wouldnt result in an upheld case.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Nothing is ever 100% one way or the other. Without more info no one can say whether this case would succeed or not0

I suggest that your parents lodge a complaint with the lender and this will cause them to investigate the case thoroughly.
Hopefully it will throw up the answers that you are looking for.

It is the endowment provider who the complaint should go to0

Now we have some one complaining they didnt get one. Perhaps you should thank the lender for not mis-selling an endowment
Why are you such an unpleasant person? You seem to revel in other people's misfortune and look down on them from your lofty position of self proclaimed "millionaire". If you don't have anything constructive to say, then why have any input into the discussion at all?

What are you on about? I made a valid comment even got thanked for it. There was a time when endowments were paying out surpluses to the mortgage. Did anyone complain their endowment was mis sold? No, When the stockmarket collapsed all of a sudden everyone is complaining they were mis sold. Now lack of performance is not grounds so many people are concocting a whole load of excuses (lies) as to how they were mis sold an endowment because a whinger always wants to pass the buck. Its always someone elses fault and they now demand compensation for their lack of dilligence.
In this case it appears no endowment was sold and the person is complaining. No doubt if they had been sold an endowment they would now be complaining it was mis sold. At least here we are not looking at another mis sold endowment.
There is an old saying "a fool and his money are easily parted" I notice from another thread you have been parted from your endowment and your free shares
Yes we all make not so good purchases but you wont get well off by spending hours by whinging about it, treat it as a lesson and be thankful that you have learnt something.
The OP should be saying Here we have a problem. Whats the best way out of it? NOT who can I blame for what is largely my error.Who I am is not important. What I do is.0
