Personal Allowance against JSA

The exact address I was told to use was ...
HM Revenue & Customs
PAYE Repayment Claim
PO Box 1970
LIVERPOOL
L75 1WX
... but I think that's close enough for government work, as they say. I use window envelopes, to the "PAYE Repayment Claim" is on the letter.
However, I sent a copy of the P60U. I'm sorry, but there's no way I'm going to send such a valuable and irreplaceable document into the black hole of a civil service post room.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Sorry, for me it’s a bit like an itch you can’t scratch and is nothing to do with your tax problem, but why are you signing on?
Do you not already have the required 30 years worth of NI credits to your name?
If you are over 60 you may also qualify for “auto credits”
See auto credits for men in this link.

A neighbour of mine who is in his fifties has been signing on for more than a year now, getting no benefits, had to do a 4 week stint as a volunteer in a charity shop, had to attend a course on preparing his CV even though the “tutor” admitted that my neighbour’s CV was excellent, the list goes on.
When I organised a State Pension forecast for him it turned out that he already had his 30 years worth of credits so he no longer bothers signing on.
He’s still looking for work and still goes to the JobCentre but he doesn’t have the faff of signing on.0 -
Jimmo, I think there may be a bit of confusion, in another thread the OP responded to a post of mine about signing on to get contributions based JSA (rather than income based, which he clearly has too much money for) and was told that he didn't want to claim. I therefore suspect that he is actually not signining on at all, but may have started the process back in October 2011, never completed it, but that has perhaps triggered something to make HMRC think he is claiming.0

Contributions based JSA is reduced by income, including pensions, so allthough the OP was eligable for contributions JSA the amount payable would be Zero if the pension was over a certain anount.0
