Hello you lovely people you!

I am a bit over-elated after embarking down the DMP/CCCS route.
After literally years of waking up sweating and never having more than ten minutes thought process that didn't involve worrying about money, I have finally got my act together.
I am making my first payment on 1st June after years of throwing money away on ever increasing interest.
I am experiencing a feeling of smug satisfaction as I now actually open the letters from the credit card companies. Lloyds, M&S and Simply Be have all been very accommodating - but I am not looking forward to Natwest, I must admit.
I won't be debt free for about 10 years at the latest count, but hey ho - I would never have been free of it without a DMP.
Thank you all for your excellent posts/advice/support which prompted me to take the plunge - my LBM was realising just how many of us there ARE out there! Sod the credit rating, mine was crapola anyhow and things can only get better from here.....

    Hi Janius,

Well done on taking the plunge (I am still dithering! :o) and hoping everything goes great for you. NatWest, Lloyds and M&S are three of my creditors, so any feedback on their 'behaviour' would be gratefully received! Wishing you the best of luck, and well done again! :T

Congratulations! I've just started too, and made my first payment yesterday. Good to read that Simplybe have played ball, one of their related brands is a creditor of mine - for some reason I didn't expect them to play nicely.

Hi Jak - yes I saw your posts earlier.....Dither No Longer!! Plunge!!!!
and Sean - Simply Be/Fashion World/Marisota/50+/etc etc are all the same company and, I expect, VERY used to this sort of thing.

Natwest CC have issued a default, which I have just opened with glee! They say they have stopped charges and interest for now, but I don't know if that is the end of it.. I somehow expect not! I also have an OD at NW and I haven't heard from them on that issue yet. M&S have been great so far and Lloyds too.

Hi Janius - you sound so upbeat, it's great! Yes, I'm just in the process of holding my nose and will be jumping any time now! (As you will have already gathered I am a complete wimp :o). I also have a cc and OD with NW, a cc with Lloyds and an a/c with M&S, so that's comforting to know. Thanks, and look forward to reading further about your journey. Jak. x

    Hi janius :)

Well done on starting this and getting moving so fast :T

I still haven't got over the feeling of elation at setting up our DMP and next week, we will be seeing the effects of our payment to CCCS which will take one of our creditors into the 3000s rather than the 4000s :j

I'm sad enough to really enjoy logging onto CCCS the day after each payment and looking at the differences in the balances. Oh and taking off any sneaky little payments we have been able to make on our own :o
