job application

i applied for a teaching assistant post at a local school. the closing date was friday 2nd and its been a week now and i was wondering whether i should have heard by now if i was going to get interviewed. maybe im just being impatient (there was another assistant post and one in admin so 3 altogether to fill) so do people know how long it takes and do they write to u or ring u? thanks

It is usual, particularly when they have a few jobs on offer at the same time, for a wait of two or three weeks. I wouldn't panic yet!

I applied for a job on Monday and got a call today offering me an interview next Thursday and yet other jobs I applied for I haven't heard anything so I'd give it a wee while yet. Some employers do say things like if you haven't heard within a couple of weeks then you've not been shortlisted but I wish you lots of luck !!
