6 payments late...

I took out a loan with Welcome Finance in 2009. I was a student and having money issues.

No payment has been made since 2009, however they haven't registered a default...on my credit file it just says 6 payments late.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Thanks

Edit: I don't want them to register a default. 6 payments late is like a default and it's affecting my credit file

Call them and arrange a repayment plan?

You can't expect to just stop paying a loan and it not to affect your credit file. It will stay there for 6 years, so another 3 to go.

You really need to contact them and arrange a repayment plan, like has been said above.

    How much do you owe?
    :p
