Hi all,
I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I recently contacted Next to inform them that i was struggling to make Min payments at the moment and could they be reduced month or so. They were fantastic and took £35 off my monthly payments and also took all intrest and service charges off for 6 months. I thought this was really helpful of them as have never been in a situation where i have had to ask a company to lower the payments so was pleasantly surprised.
Today i then recieve a letter saying to continue with the payment plan i must send back a signed copy of the enclosed letter, it turns out i have never signed a credit agreement with them from the start.
I then also recieved a missed call and a voice mail saying "courtesy call to check you recieved the credit agreement"
is this normal when entering payment plans? will they keep ringing until they recieve it? im a bit puzzled as to why i was allowed thousands of pounds of credit when i never signed anything.
Thanks in advance
Jo

Then you will have ticked a box to state you're happy with the agreement.
That tick makes the agreement valid and enforceable.
If you didn't tick the box they wouldn't have let you open an account.0 -

they always try that on. do not sign the new agreement.
they usually just carry on and accept if you ignore.0 -

only if the tick box was saying that you agreed to a credit agreement.
thing is with the next accounts from years ago the tick boxs didnt used to agree to that. they didnt do it properly. which is why they are trying to get people to sign new ones now. they know what they had before is useless if it went to court.0 -
that is very interesting as I have had my Next account for about 13 years! I doubt very much they have a signed agreement from me, what should I do? currently in a DMP and they are one of my creditors......do I request something from them to prove our agreement and what if they can not do this?0
