can anybody tell me if i can get my ex partners name off the mortgage by changing companies so that it dos'nt cost me for legal fees

    There is normally an additional charge for this unfortunatly. (it falls outside of the "Free Basic Legal work" that is often offered(

    You may find by remortgaging (changing companies) that this cost is more than mitigated by saving, but you will still be charged for this

    I don't know what they charge if you are not changing lenders. But to do it via a remortgage (with free legal fees) would cost approx £150.

    I have literally just done this (invoice came last week)

    I am with the Halifax, it cost me 160 quid with them, and then the solicitor bill was 550 quid!

    So NOT CHEAP! And that was with it being amicable!
