Morning all, busy day today, gas, plumber and estate agents coming out today, we are hoping to exchange with taylor wimpey and are just waiting for the final mortgage offer to come through. I am not keen on going ahead with other things while we are waiting for mortgage offer to be finalised but don't have a choice as we need to exchange by 22 June!! and move by 29 June. But new house is near a big Tesco and a Morrisons so could be a good move.
I often hang out on the housing board.
I can't believe your solicitor is letting you exchange without your mortgage offer. What happens if you delay exchange until the mortgage offer is in? You will still be ready to exchange before anyone else.
At the very least ask your solicitor's opinion on exchanging with no written offer. At least then if something did go wrong and the lender would only let you borrow less than you thought (and they often are every tight with new builds) your solicitor may be liable to you for telling you it is safe to exchange without the offer.
Are you using the builder's recommended solicitor?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Morning!
Bit of a rainy day again here today. Will go stir crazy if DS and I are stuck in the house all day so I may brave taking him to visit my grandma in hospital later. We usually go to her house every Thursday morning so that I can help her have a bath but she has been in hospital for nearly 2 weeks so she is missing him. I just find it difficult if he gets bored and starts playing up to [STRIKE]chase[/STRIKE] waddle after him. Luckily she is in her own room so don't have to worry that he is disturbing other patients.
Need to chase up my Tesco Direct order later too. Got email to say my items were ready for collection but when I went up there one of the two mattresses were missing. They said to try again today so fingers crossed it has mysteriously appeared....♥ Worrying does not empty tomorrow of it's troubles.... it empties today of it's strength ♥0
