It's the only way you learn. How many of us have done something similar? HC's was a bottle of Jack Daniels, mine was a bottle of vodka.

Morning all, mine was Brandy and Babycham at a work Xmas party of all things. Got carried home and collapsed comatose across the hallway. Spent all the next two days being sick, in bed. Never touched one since and the smell of brandy still makes me heave 40 years later!

Looks like its gonna rain shortly. Just going out to pick all the damn snails off my tubs. Never had so many slugs and snails as this year. I've lost loads of petunias.

Have you got any local charity shops which specifically sell electical items? There are one or two in our area that have additional shops just for electrical items and furniture.

    Morning everyone :)

Exactly - still remember my folks not being too impressed when I broke the glass in the front door because no matter how many times I "quietly" tried to find the keyhole, somehow it kept moving :D:D

At least I remembered my key! My bro put a ladder straight through an upstairs window one night when he forgot his and didn't want to wake the olds up because he was ratted - epic fail :)

I was so angry with my delivery, got an email to say they would deliver Thursday from 8 - 5, stayed in all day, at 4.55 got an email saying that it would be delivered Friday! The email stated do not reply unless I could not accept delivery, I wrote back asking who I should complain to, long and short of it, got an email back apolagising and saying could arrange delivery 7am - 11am for Friday. 11am came and went, I had to go out a couple of times after, eventually beer was delivered back of 2pm and luckily I was back in time for it! I was originally told it would be a 2 hour slot......total fiasco, I am sure there will be a lot of people without the beer this weekend!

we had the same problem but on Wednesday and Thursday, if I could get my hands on Joana Fox I would..... Ours turned up Thursday night, couriers say they never promised any time slots TNT Post say they did, after we have had our party, I'm writing to Carling, informing them of the delivery fiasco telling them how I have had to take 2 days off work, because of the false promises made and ask how they are going to make things right, then i'll complain to TNT, Joana Fox should be shot, or atleast disciplined for this fiasco, TNT pride themselves on their service and they will have got loads of bad publicity from this, and when the TNT man comes back to visit me for our contract at work next month, he's in a for a big shock cause he's not having it. Yes the beer is free but we are having a Jubilee party and I have spent more time on carling that expires within a month then on scamming Mr T for all the food, I think anyone else who had a simular experience should be making Carling/Coors at Burton on trent aware of the problems and they too should be compensated by TNT, it might come to nothing but I will feel lots better.

Got 4 legs of lamb today on DTD I will have to cook them then slice and freeze them as I have zero room in the freezer :(

i got another one but from my local yesterday first she offered to swap it for one of the half price as I must have picked the wrong sort of lamb, all the ones in the promotions have a red sticker, so i showed her even some in the promotion didn't have a red sticker, we even found another which was full price not sure how I missed that, they the butcher came over and explained it's only the ones with stickers on that are reduced, he admitted he has 4 trays out the back which are full price (can't wait for them to appear), again offered to swap, it wasn't an overcharge it was the correct price for that leg, again I showed them the big SEL stating no brand no specific, wewent round to the other section and again the same, she wouldn't budge so I asked for the Duty manager, he offered the swap again, after another 5 minutes of discussion, he said so you only brought the product because you wanted DTD then?

I replied no I picked the biggest leg of lamb and saw they were half price assumed the discount was applied at the till and paid for it and I was overcharged, your policy is if i'm overcharged you give double the difference back, I don't make the rules up behind you, I didn't put the wrong legs of lamb out, he turned away and siad give him what he wants and walked off, I thanked her for my free leg of lamb and went home.

Just collected up over 20 slugs and some small snails out of my pots - yuck. Now, question is, as my hubby saw neighbour toss a couple of slugs over our fence onto the decking the other morning (and made the mistake of telling me), should I pop them back in an untied bag through his letterbox with a little note: 'thought you might be missing a couple of your guys you kindly sent on an outing the other day. Would you like to reclaim yours from this assortment - the others are free to a good home?' mmmm - very tempting. Would have done it a few years ago. Will give it a bit of thought. One way or another, he will be getting his original slugs back though!
