Discussion Time, somewhere we don't want to be! They are brutal over there. If I find the thread that was started not so long ago about people who buy RTC food, I will post it here and then you will understand certainly why I for one won't join in if it goes over there. :)

    Just my two pence worth.

    Didn't take long: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3944765
"scaff cabinet" "benefit buffet" See what I mean ;)

Oh my goodness. There is a bit of a scrum at my Mr T's but who am I to tell someone not to feed themselves or their kids. We have no idea why people money save and frankly its none of my business. I actively encourage and share money saving. I'm not poor for now, but I have been and I prepare to be just in case it happens again.

I had great pleasure giving FIL the wine demon case from a wee while back on Saturday- he was more than delighted as you can imagine. And could not believe what I paid.

I came on this morning to say that I have booked a wee holiday and its the first for a long time and it comes with much thanks to all you lovely ladies and gents on here sharing your finds and suggestions thats helped me put money away to pay for it in full. :T

Anyway off to get wired up for an ECG nothing major I hope, Im still going on holiday though. Just got to renew passport hopefully that comes through quick.

Have a lovely day all :j

This has happened several times to me, I see people picking up and looking at stuff so I lean over and tell them the price and they just give me the strangest of looks. I don't look too bad, well, I don't think I do.
I have given 2 people coupons a few weeks ago and they looked alarmed, until they saw I had the item in my trolley, well 6 of then anyway.

I have done this a few times too, I think mainly people are suspicious and think 'whats the catch, whats she up to, whats in it for her' as sadly people are not expecting a stranger to be genuinely helpful.

I was once accused of trying to 'sell' vouchers to a lady, as she could not 'get' that I was just offering them to her for free:mad:. It will not stop me though, as there are others who are very greatful, and its nice to brighten up someones day!

I've recently found this thread and thought I would join in.

I'm addicted to using coupons, and looking for offers and hope to contribute to the thread.

Yesterday in Mr T's I found Frozen Quorn Fishless Pie reduced to clear at 57p.

    Hope that helps :)

A question to the males on here

Have you ever had one of your pistachios decide he didn't want to stay with his brother and jumped upstairs at the end of a bit of bedroom fun ?
This happened to me the other day :o He was quickly sent back to his brother, but since then I've been in quite a bit of pain (the pain is coming from his temporary home)
Went to the docs this morning and am being referred to a urologist.
Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience ?

    Sounds hilarious but quite painful

Ouch! I think that's akin to receiving a kick in the doo das. It'll probably ache for quite a while until things settle down. I wouldn't worry your self unduly. These things tend to sort themselves out. Still, get a check-up to be on the safe side. In the meantime avoid heavy lifting and tight fitting clothing.

    morning peeps.now all caught up.

going over to dt. i dont think thats a good idea. i lurk on kduk and have never registered. if people can wade through our waffle to find the bargains then let them. wedont hand the bargains on a plate do we. they do have to work for it.

good luck danielle on your wedding on saturday. what part of the country are you in, so we can watch the weatherfor you.

magicowen. i will be thinking of you and have my fingers crossed for you.

fugde-cake hugs for you. just cos you are you.

silvercar, i would link your clubcard to his account.
i am getting my dressing changed today. i am hoping they dont put so much padding on and that i maybe able to wear slippers and normal shoes. if so i will sit in the car and see if i can use my clucth safely. i wont start the engine, so dont worry.

Thanks MMW. I am getting married on Sunday (cheaper than a Saturday :D) and i am getting married in Cornwall.

Good morning - just caught up, usually catch up whilst having morning brew before school run but I am either a slow reader or it was extra chatty yesterday - guess having an early night meant more to catch up on.

Hope you are all enjoying this glorious sunshine

Please don't do this. I think we would be given a very bumpy ride by the DT crew. The BG is not nearly as nice as redfox -don't think we would get the same support. Also, there are lots of legitimate reasons for lurking and it would be a shameto exclude those peeps who are building up confidence to join in. And all those regulars who work n lurk during the day because they aren't allowed to log onfrom the work place would be barred.

The thread is flourishing here and is a fantastic community - just want you tothink very carefully before going ahead with any changes.

Wemay get a bumpy ride in DT at first and the regulars would be rightly curiousbut it would soon get accepted, RF would be welcome over there just as she is here! :D

Re the lurkers and workers , if you have access to the forum at work, you can login to view DT, no prob!

The idea was not to exclude newbies but to make it harder for the grabbers! :T

Thestats would suggest that it would very much deter lurkers. This very thread, started 9 days ago has at time of posting racked up 131,790 views. Which would place it in the top 10 currently active Grabbit threads. And easily in the top 200t hreads of all time. Don't think it's well-hidden in It's Gone, that may havebeen the case at first but everyone and his dog knows about it now. It's got tothe stage that it probably wouldn't make a blind bit of difference if thethread was fully out in the open.

Whereasthe most viewed thread ever on DT has 81,721 views, the second most viewed has 34,066.

Ithink it's better to discourage lurking not by excluding lurkers altogether, but by encouraging them to participate... Which is why I think a temporary moveto DT would be advantageous. And be very public about it. It's far easier topluck up the courage to join in if you've already gone through the registrationprocess.

Afterhaving a thread there, and no doubt thousands of freshly registered MSEers, move it back where it belongs. A few more threads here, then rinse and repeat...

Wecould even run a competition to estimate the number of registrations during theaway period

I agree, we could do it on a trial basis, if it didn’t work out we could simply start a new thread in gone but not forgotten! :D

Ihave to agree with Altojack. I guess I am considered a lurker. I don't postoften. I mainly post to confirm something I found in a store or say somethingdidn't work. I know of one other local person on this thread who posts so Itend to mention to her if I find something locally

Thisis just in friendly debate. I do think it would be a shame to not justleave thethread as it is.

Idon't consider you a lurker as you contribute and post , I appreciate people don’t have thetime to post every day etc,:)

as a member you would have access to discussion time!! ;)
