Give us an idea of the meals you've already planned and that way we can try not to duplicate and we'll have an idea of your likes.

how about listing what you have left in your cupboards and we`ll see if we can come up with suggestions. when im financially challenged (skint;) ) i always tend to cook a pasta bake...cook some pasta, fry a pack of tesco cooking bacon mishapes and an onion/musrooms, boil some peas and mix it all up with a cheap jar of pasta sauce then sprinkle grated cheese on top and put in the oven till bubbling and golden... this should feed hubby and yourself for a couple of nights

    Hi there,
If you have tinned tuna and some salmon too you could make homemade fishcakes by just adding some fish to mashed potatoes, shaping into fishcake shapes then dipping in eggs and breadcrumbs and frying. Or add some fish to cooked pasta, onion, garlic and tomatoes and baking in the oven with cheese on top.

How about pancakes with stir-fried veg, hoummous and cheese inside....doesn't need much filling to be really tasty.

Pasta with pesto, onion, garlic and some value bacon chopped up and fried off first. It's one of our favourites.:D

Rehydrated Instant noodles (8p) fried up with a handful of veg (carrot sticks, onion, celery, pepper, mushrooms, shredded cabbage, beansprouts) and a couple of eggs, or a bit of leftover meat is a favorite cheapie in this house. Can be liberally coated in Sweet Chilli sauce too...and a sprinkling of soy sauce.

Omlettes (with various cheap fillings), Jacket potatoes (with various cheap fillings. I bet if you thought about it and surfed the net, you could come up with 20 decent and healthy meals using 2 dozen eggs, a big bag of spuds and a moderately sized lump of cheese.

£3.50 buys you a kilo of scottish mine - cook up a pot of bolognese then divide into portions - makes 8 portions You can then have it with pasta, add curry paste and peas to make it Indian, for mexican add a can of beans (20P), cumin, oregano and chilli (serve either with rice or ttorillas) , and into a cottage pie or similar, adding some extra veg.

Free range diced turkey about £3.50 from T - stirfry half for one meal, use rest in a curry or meaty soup.

For remaining 4 days have spanish omlette, minestrone and some tinned tuna and salmon. That should leave money for fruit, veg and milk/cheese etc.

    Have fun!
