My company that I work for offers a "stake holder pension" what is this? They do not add any money on top of this which is because they are a charity but is this a good idea or not? What are the best pension deals out there?

I don't think Charities are exempt but they will be required to contribute to a pension scheme in the near future.
Although you don't need to use a pension, you should be saving for your retirement in some sort of way.0 -
Charity or not they will have to soon by 2018 I think).
A stakehomder epsnion is a type of pension brought in to have lower charges and to take smaller contributions. But these days, personal pensions have improved and can beat them,
You will get Basic rate tax relief/uplift so it is probably worht doing. But in the mean time, fill your ISAs annally as well as sa ving in pensions.0 -
I work for a charity myself which until April this year was the same as your own ( stakeholder no company input) we now have a nest pension which the company contribute 1% ... Have your company announced any plans for which scheme they will be joining? Maybe comtact human resources and ask them what the plans are ... Good luck0
