Just had a plaster and lath ceiling removed and was totally unprepared for the amount of dust/grime/black stuff, although I had been warned.
I stupidly hadn't taken the curtains down beforehand and they are a sight to behold. The curtains are cleanable but I'm not sure what to do about the matching tiebacks because of the stiffening in them. (Had them made, so not sure what the insides are actually made of.) Any suggestions to make them look usable again?

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
