Paying off Payplan debt - Advice needed

Hello everyone
We have £33000 left to pay Payplan on DMP with 9 years to go. We have been on it just over 6 years now and not missed any payments.
We have been given £20000 to put towards this debt and wonder if any of you can tell me if any of you have had success in paying off DMP's with a reduced payment. This is after all £13K less than we owe so may be a bit cheeky!
Any advice always greatly received from you all

No, its not cheeky at all.
Try it and see what happens. Think of it this way, they can wait another 9 years, or they can get most of it now....they'll take the settlement. Some will try to twist your for an unfair slice, but you just need to give them an ultimatum..play nice, or they can wait the full stretch.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it
